Drifting away to dangerous water

Drifting away to dangerous water
So we must listen very carefully to the truth we have heard, or we may drift away from it. For the message God delivered through angels has always stood firm, and every violation of the law and every act of disobedience was punished. So what makes us think we can escape if we ignore this great salvation that was first announced by the Lord Jesus himself and then delivered to us by those who heard him speak?”
Hebrews 2:1-3 NLT

Regularly gathering in the house of the Lord with brothers and sisters in Christ provides an anchor of support and accountability.

But skipping church in order to pursue other interests usually indicates a believer has begun to drift away from God. Less apparent are the men and women who mentally skip the worship service.

The act of attending means nothing unless we make a deliberate decision to receive God’s Word and apply it to our life. As the writer of Hebrews warned, if we do not pay attention to what we have heard, we will drift away from it (Heb. 2:1).
However, Sunday morning is not the only time for nourishing our heart and mind with principles and encouragement from the Bible.

We should be in its pages every day, reading and meditating for ourselves. When our interest in what God has to say decreases, we are already slipping out into troublesome waters. The only way to keep our way pure is by following His Word

“How can a young person stay pure? By obeying your word.”
Psalms 119:9 NLT

A fading prayer life often accompanies neglected Bible reading. Prayer is the way believers communicate with the Navigator. If we stop talking with Him, the God who once seemed so close will soon feel far away.

That chasm in our spirit is one more sign that we’re far from shore and safety.

Many captain guide their  cruise ship through a narrow channel. The crew members are intensely focused on their tasks because drifting means disaster.

Life is full of narrow channels to navigate. We cannot afford to drift away from God and His Word. Only He can bring us safely through.

Deliverance of the Mind

"For as he thinketh in his heart so is he".
                                                            PROVERBS 23:7, KJV

You are the way you think. The mind has always been a favorite target of the enemy. If the devil” “can control your mind, he can control your life.

Spirits that attack the mind include mind control, confusion, mental breakdown, mind-binding and mind-binding spirits, insanity, madness, mania, fantasy, evil thinking, migraines, mental pain, and negative thinking. They are all what I call “stinking thinking.”

The good news is that you can loose yourself (including your mind) from all evil influences that operate through your mind.”

“Mind control is a common spirit that has been identified by the name Octopus. Mind control spirits can resemble an octopus or squid with tentacles that grasp and control the mind.

Deliverance from mind control releases a person from mental pressure, mental pain, confusion, and mental torment. Mind control spirits can enter through listening to ungodly music, reading occult books, pornography, false teaching, false religions, drugs, and passivity.

In Jesus’s name, I loose my mind from all spirits of control, confusion, mental bondage, insanity, madness, fantasy, passivity, intellectualism, knowledge block, ignorance, mind binding, lust, and evil thinking. Amen.”
